Our story
A nose for the good stuff
Sniffing Dog Vintage started the way a lot of good habits do: one great find at a thrift store and the urge to find another. Wesley began digging through Goodwill racks around Atlanta, and he quickly learned that the best clothing never makes it to a thrift store at all. It is still hanging in closets and folded in cedar chests at estate sales.
Today nearly all of our inventory comes from estate sales across metro Atlanta. Most weekends start with a list of sales, an early alarm, and a lot of closets. We look for pieces that were made well and cared for, from 1950s henleys and Norwegian knits to western jackets and premium golf wear, and we give them a second life.
Why "Sniffing Dog"
Our shop dog is the mascot and the chief inspector. Good vintage is about patience and a good nose: knowing which closet to open, which tag to check, and which piece is worth the drive home. That is the whole job, and the name reminds us of it every time we head out.
How it works
- We hunt. Estate sales first, with the occasional thrift store detour.
- We check everything. Every piece is inspected for holes, stains, and working hardware, then washed or aired out.
- We list it on Depop. Depop handles secure checkout, shipping labels, and buyer protection.
- We share the story. The Hunt tells you where each haul came from, and our guides teach you to find your own.
